Eva Longoria Embarks on New Journey as She Reveals Major Life Change Following Election Results
Eva Longoria is revealing that she's embarking upon a whole new journey, as she recently made a major life change.
The Desperate Housewives actress has left the United States to live abroad, now residing between Mexico and Spain with her husband, José Bastón—whom she married in 2016—and their 6-year-old son, Santiago Enrique Bastón.

"I get to escape and go somewhere," the Flamin' Hot director told Marie Claire in a cover article published on Wednesday, Nov. 13. "Most Americans aren't so lucky. They're going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them."
The comments come on the heels of the 2024 presidential election results and Donald Trump's impending transition back to the White House. The Sylvie's Love actress publicly advocated for the Democratic nominee, Kamala Harris, and subsequently, expressed concern for the future.
"The shocking part is not that he won... It's that a convicted criminal who spews so much hate could hold the highest office," the Lowriders star told the publication, breaking her silence on the political results. "I would like to think our fight continues... If he keeps his promises, it's going to be a scary place."
Longoria—originally from Corpus Christi, Texas, before spending most of her adult life in California—was born to ninth-generation Mexican-American parents, and often speaks about her ethnic roots.
While abroad, the 49-year-old also revealed she was given the honorary title "Dame" due to her family roots tracing back to the Spanish city of Oviedo, where her ancestors are from.
Currently, she is filming the CNN miniseries Searching for Spain, a follow-up to last year's Searching for Mexico.
