ESPN Alum Reveals Wife’s Health Battle, Asks for Prayers
David Pollack is asking for prayers for his wife, Lindsey, ahead of a big surgery she has scheduled for later this week.
On Monday, the former ESPN analyst and NFL star took to social media with a candid post, revealing that his wife of nearly 20 years has brain cancer.
"I do not share much of my personal life on social media but today is gonna be different," the former linebacker wrote in a March 10 X (formerly Twitter) post. "If you are the praying type please lift up my wife Lindsey. She has brain cancer and surgery is Wednesday at Duke."
"So thankful to serve a loving God that meets us in our struggles!" the 42-year-old concluded.

No other information about Lindsey's unfortunate health battle was made available, and she does not appear to have discussed her diagnosis publicly.
The former Cincinnati Bengals player and his wife first met at the University of Georgia and wed in 2005. David–who stirred up controversy over a statement he made in 2013–and Lindsey's family also includes two teenage children: 16-year-old son Nicholas and 14-year-old daughter Leah.
Though the family of four likes to lead a more private life, they appear to be very close. Together with their children, the couple founded The Pollack Family Foundation in 2016 "with the desire to educate and encourage individuals, families and communities on the benefits of nutrition and exercise with a focus of raising awareness about childhood obesity," according to the charity's site.
Its official webpage also noted, "The Pollack Family Foundation made the transition from a focus of 'raising awareness about childhood obesity' to an expanded reach of 'empowering families’ by providing for basic needs and fundamental care as we invest in opportunities to encourage 'Faith. Family. Community.' throughout the Athens, Georgia community and the Greater Atlanta area."
Since he was let go by ESPN in 2023, David has also co-hosted the Family Goals podcast with pastor Jonathan Howes, during which the two discuss sports, family and faith.
