Chicago marked Jayne's Broadway debut. Her initial run began on Jan. 6, 2020, and was scheduled to continue performances through March 29 when the industry was forced to shut down. Her final performance ended up being on March 11.

“Well this is not the way I wanted to say goodbye to Roxie and my Chicago family but I have no choice,” Jayne, 53, wrote on her Instagram page at the time alongside a photo of her on stage. “THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to everyone that came to the shows . I leave NYC feeling like my mission is incomplete but I will treasure this time always.”

Now, of course, Jayne has the ability to complete that mission.

For those who haven't seen Chicago, the musical follows two murderous women who use their criminal notoriety to find fame in the Vaudeville circuit. With a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, and score featuring music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb, the show originally premiered in 1975 with legendary leading ladies Gwen Verdon and Chita Rivera playing Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly, respectively.

But despite featuring some of the most beloved songs in musical theater history — including “All That Jazz,” “The Cell-Block Tango,” “When You’re Good to Momma,” “Roxie,” and “Razzle Dazzle" — Chicago was by no means a hit at first. It wasn't until the 1996 revival, first starring  Ann Reinking and Bebe Neuwirth, that the show became a success.

That year, Chicago won six Tony Awards including best revival. It's the longest-running American musical in Broadway history.

An all-star movie adaptation of the musical was released in 2002 with Catherine Zeta-Jones and Renée Zellweger in the lead roles. The movie went on to win six Oscar Awards, including Best Picture and Best Supporting Actress for Zeta-Jones.

Twice this year alone, Ariana Madix of Vanderpump Rules fame razzle dazzled audiences as Roxie. Real Housewives of Atlanta stars Kandi Burrus and NeNe Leakes made their debuts on the Great White Way, both in the role of Matron Mama Morton. Even Jayne's former RHOBH costar Lisa Rinna played Roxie in the show on Broadway, back in 2007.

Tickets for Chicago are now on sale.
