Elton John has returned to the red carpet for the first time since revealing he's “been dealing with a severe eye infection” that has affected his vision.

On Friday, Sept. 6, just days after he shared the health news with fans, the music icon, 77, hit the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival with husband David Furnish.

To mark the world premiere of John’s documentary Elton John: Never Too Late, the longtime couple wore complementary looks, with the singer layering shades of dark maroon — including his signature shades — and co-director Furnish, 61, rocking a plum tux.

John first shared his health update three days prior to his TIFF outing.

The “Tiny Dancer” singer announced the news in an Instagram post on Sept. 3, revealing that he now has “limited vision” and assuring fans that he is doing well amid his recovery.

“Over the summer, I’ve been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye,” he wrote in the post. “I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye.”

The five-time Grammy winner added that he is “so grateful for the excellent team of doctors and nurses and my family, who have taken such good care of me over the last several weeks.”

“I have been quietly spending the summer recuperating at home, and am feeling positive about the progress I have made in my healing and recovery thus far,” he concluded.

At TIFF, the “Rocket Man” singer celebrated the premiere of the career-spanning doc Never Too Late, which Furnish co-directed with R.J. Cutler.

From his iconic 1974 Madison Square Garden show to his final play at Dodger Stadium in 2022, the film follows John as he reflects on the early days of his decades-long career while preparing to play his final North American show.

In the doc, “Elton takes us back in time and recounts the extraordinary highs and heartbreaking lows of his early years and how he overcame adversity, abuse and addiction to become the icon he is today," according to a press release.
