Portia de Rossi professed her love for wife Ellen DeGeneres on the couple's sixth wedding anniversary with a skywriting grand gesture.

The 56-year-old talk show host shared a photo of the loved-up couple beneath a giant "six" written in the sky on August 19.

She tweeted: "Look what my wife did for our wedding anniversary."

This isn't the first time the 41-year-old Aussie has used skywriting to profess her love for wife Ellen on their anniversary. The romantic gesture has become tradition for the couple in years past.

Ellen and Portia have been rocked with marriage trouble rumours several times this year, however the pair appear to be on good terms at the moment.

A source previously told People: "They've had their ups and downs. Portia has been very outspoken about previous issues, like her eating disorder, and she's good at seeking help when she needs to. They've worked out difficulties in the past, and no doubt they're trying to work out any problems right now."

Ellen and Portia have been married since August 2008, however they have been dating since 2004.
