Elle Fanning's boyfriend told Jack Black 'you're her hall pass' when they met the actor at a valet stand
"I was turning bright red," she tells Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show."
Actress Elle Fanning has revealed her dream man, and it's somewhat unexpected.
No, it's not PEOPLE's reigning Sexiest Man Alive John Krasinski or even one of his forerunners, including Michael B. Jordan, Patrick Dempsey, Chris Evans, and Paul Rudd. Instead, it's the hilarious Jack Black, who's twice her age and better known for being goofy than suave.
The subject came up during her appearance this week on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, when the host asked her about a photo of the two that she posted on social media. (watch below.)
"We were waiting for our cars at the valet at the same time, and my boyfriend was with me," Fanning explained of when the photo was taken. "He was like, 'Go up to him. Go up to him.' And he convinced me to, and I did. And then my boyfriend yelled to him, he's like, 'You're her hall pass, by the way!'"
When Fallon asked, Fanning confirmed that Black "loved it" that her boyfriend joked he was the celebrity that she's allowed to cheat on him with.

"And he was with his wife, and, like, we were laughing," said Fanning, who's dated Rolling Stone CEO Gus Wenner since 2023. (Black married musician Tanya Haden in 2006.) "I mean, I was turning bright red. I still am."
Though the encounter was embarrassing, the A Complete Unknown star thought it was worth it.
"It has made my life," the 26-year-old said, confirming what she had written in the caption about the 55-year-old Black. "So we have a group chat, my sister and all my girlfriends, and it's basically dedicated to how hot Jack Black is. Like, he is our perfect man. Like, beyond. And like we ... send each other like clips of him all the time and like specifically the saxophone clip of him on the show. It's iconic."
The "saxophone clip" features the School of Rock actor and Tenacious D guitarist jamming with the show's in-house band The Roots on his Sax-A-Boom instrument.
Fallon quipped that Black, whose movies also include the Kung Fu Panda franchise, Tropic Thunder, The Holiday, and this year's Dear Santa, is a "sexy dude," to which Fanning agreed.
"So funny. Like, perfect," she said.
