They’ve already smashed the vacuum cleaner market, are major players in the fans business and have people all over the world fawning over their hairdryers and Airwrap - and now it looks like Dyson’s latest hair styling tool is set to be a huge success.
Fans online have been whipped up into a frenzy after it was announced overnight that Dyson are gearing up to release a hair straightener called the Dyson Corrale.
If you’ve spent years dragging straighteners through your hair then this news will be like music to your ears as it’s not just an ordinary hair styler, it’s a cordless straightener that promises to provide innovative technology for less hair damage.
There is a small catch however, as if you want to get your hands on one of the sought-after beauty devices, which will be available in Australia from April 24th, it'll set you back a whopping $699 (NZ$749).
Dyson have spent the last seven years developing the straighteners, which will include flexing plates to seriously reduce the amount of damage caused to the hair.
“Flat hair irons apply tension and heat only on the thickest part of the tress, the strands at the edges are not clamped, leaving them slack, unheated and leaving flyaways. It requires multiple passes on the same section of the hair tress to give an even look, by which time excess heat may have caused reduced strength and less gloss,” James Dyson, the brand’s founder and chief engineer said.
The Dyson Corrale comes with three different heat settings (165°C, 185°C and 210°C) so you can tailor the heat you use to style your hair.
People online have freaked out about the news, with many saying they’ll have to start saving their pennies now to be able to afford it.
“Dyson came out with a cordless straightener! It took up until the year 2020 to do this!?!? I NEED IT! It’s all I have ever wanted in a hair styling tool,” one person wrote.
“yson came out with a straightener that doesn't use heat and i think i need to pick up more shifts to buy this because that shit is groundbreaking for someone like me who loves to straighten their hair and is scared of damaging their hair,” another person wrote.
Others said it looks “cool af”, while some said they couldn’t wait to get their hands on it.
“Seriously, who can even afford the dyson hair styling tools? i need to know so i can befriend,” one person wrote.
