Dylan Dreyer Stirs Debate About ‘Perfect’ Holiday Weather With New Photos
Dylan Dreyer ignited a debate about holiday weather after sharing photos from a recent tropical work trip on social media.
The Today show co-host, who late last week was involved in a different holiday-related debate sparked by a photo shared online by fellow Today star Al Roker, recently traveled to the Bahamas to observe what she described in a Sunday, Dec. 8, post on Instagram as “an incredible program.”

But before observing that program, the 43-year-old mother of three shared a poolside photo on the picture-sharing platform that highlighted the sunny weather she experienced while there, with a view of cloud-dotted blue skies, palm trees and reclined pool loungers. A zoomed-in view of the scene that she also included with her post showed a Santa figurine standing off to the side of the pool.
“Not sure I could ever get used to palm trees, warm sun, and Santa,” the NBC meteorologist wrote before quickly adding, "I’m here for work, I swear!!” Her caption led fans to debate whether they prefer winter holiday weather to be cold and blustery or bright and sunny.
“Trust me - you get used to it and xmas lights on palm trees are the best!” one fan wrote as another agreed that “Decorated palm trees with lights look awesome.”
Dreyer’s photo displayed “Perfect December weather!☀️🎄🎀,” one Instagram user declared.
While many assured Dreyer that she “absolutely could” get used to warm-weather winters, there were some dissenters.
“Nope they do NOT go together ❄️🎄❄️🎄,” one person said of Santa and warm weather.
Another shared that, despite having lived in Florida “forever,” they are “still not” used to warm weather during the winter holidays.
“Snow at Christmas is wonderfully beautiful,” another fan said, adding, "i love sun and water but not for Christmas.”
