Drew Barrymore and Chris Hemsworth recall being too scared to introduce themselves at a hair salon: 'I was freaking out'
"The whole hour or two I was sitting there I’m like, 'I just want to meet Chris Hemsworth. I just want to meet him and I want to say hello.'"
Even stars can’t help but get a little starstruck sometimes.
While speaking with Chris Hemsworth on her talk show on Friday, Drew Barrymore explained that she once crossed paths with the Thor actor but was too shy to introduce herself.
“Was this about 10 years ago?” Hemsworth interjected. To which Barrymore quipped back, “Was it at a hair salon?"
“Yes!” Hemsworth shouted as he burst out laughing. Barrymore, in response, let out a loud scream and collapsed onto her side of the couch, covering her face with her hands. “This is hilarious,” he continued. “I was getting my hair either tipped and blond-ed or darkened of something for a movie."

Hemsworth later clarified that their shared style session occurred while he was getting his hair highlighted to play hacker Nick Hathaway in Michael Mann's 2015 cyber-thriller, Blackhat. “So we have met before,” he teased.
Barrymore may have spotted Hemsworth in the salon, but she didn’t dare actually go up and talk to him. “I’m not kidding, I was too nervous to go up to you,” she confessed. “The whole hour or two I was sitting there I’m like, 'I just want to meet Chris Hemsworth. I just want to meet him and I want to say hello.’”
As it turns out, Hemsworth was equally nervous about seeing Barrymore. “I was thinking the same thing,” he said, prompting Barrymore to shout, “No!”

“Absolutely! Are you kidding?” Hemsworth exclaimed. “I was like, ‘She won’t know who I am and it will be awkward. I’d be like a crazy fan.’”
Barrymore, meanwhile, was just tying her best to play it cool in the same space as him. “I was trying to be respectful,” she said. “Of course, I was freaking out the whole time.”
