Ooh wee, is Frito-Lay spoiling us to start the new year? First, it brought one of the best international Lay’s flavors—All Dressed—to the U.S. for the first time. And, now, it’s introducing a new Doritos flavor that already has fans buzzing.

With one of the biggest snacking days of the year—Super Bowl—approaching and knowing that PepsiCo, who owns Frito-Lay, is a major sponsor of the NFL, we aren’t surprised that the chip brand is going all out with new products. But we are excited that our Big Game spread will have Lay’s All Dressed—and now, Doritos Golden Sriracha on the menu.

Doritos is releasing an all-new Golden Sirarcha chip that features tangy, spicy, and slightly sweet flavors in one bold bite. However, unlike the Screamin’ Sriracha flavor, which Doritos introduced in 2019 and brought back in September 2023, the Golden Sriracha Dorito isn’t all about the heat.

Instead of drawing from the classic red sriracha—which might be what you think of when you think of the hot sauce—Doritos’ new chip is a blend of the lesser-known yellow and green sriracha varieties.

Don’t worry, the Golden Sriracha flavor still has heat, but it’s more complex with a tangy, vinegary flavor and sweet undertones. Doritos Golden Sriracha has begun rolling out to retailers nationwide and fans are already raving about the new flavor.

“It's the best flavor they've put out in a while,” one Reddit user posted.

“A little tangy, a little smokey, slightly vinegary with a kick of heat,” wrote another Redditor.

A fan on Reddit compared the new tangy, sweet heat chip to Doritos’ purple bag flavor, Spicy Sweet Chili. We know the purple bag is a fan favorite among Doritos lovers—including Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes—so, if the new Golden Sriracha flavor has the same sweet and spicy essence, it’s sure to become a hit in no time.

Doritos Golden Sriracha will be available at retailers nationwide and on Snacks.com in both 9.25-ounce and 2.625-ounce sizes. The new Doritos are here just in time for the Big Game—and for you to see which Doritos Crash the Super Bowl semifinalist will have their ad air during Super Bowl LIX.

The good news is that even after football season has come and gone, Doritos Golden Sriracha chips are here to stay. The flavor is joining Doritos' everyday line-up—and it deserves its permanent spot.

I tried the new flavor, and it's incredibly delicious. I wouldn't necessarily compare it to the purple bag in taste, but definitely in spirit, as it has a sweet, yet spicy flavor. However, what struck me is how tangy the Golden Sriracha Doritos are. They have a vinegary flavor, but it's more zesty—almost like a mixture of soy and lime, like you'd find in pad Thai or stir fry.

We lucked out that Doritos is keeping the Golden Sriracha flavor around for a while. Who didn't luck out, however, is that person selling the bags for $1,000 on eBay.
