Donatella Versace Fans Astounded by Her Unrecognizable Appearance: ‘This Is Shocking’

Fans were stunned by a purported new photo of Donatella Versace that surfaced following a performance of The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical at London's Dominion Theatre on Sunday, Dec. 1, where the fashion designer looked decades younger than ever before.

Pop culture update account Pop Crave shared a photo from the evening suggesting that she had "debut[ed a] new look" when she stepped out in a sheer glittering mini-dress with a glowing, airbrushed complexion.

However, it was actually an edited snapshot that inadvertently led fans to believe Versace had gotten cosmetic work done.

Some suggested "she went to lindsey lohan doctor," as fans of the Disney alum have also pointed out changes to her appearance, while others applauded, "oh her new surgeon ate!"

"this is shocking not gonna lie," someone else wrote of the altered image.

"...She looks 49," another reply said of the 69-year-old.

However, other photos from the night proved that the image had been brightened and smoothed, with Versace looking much like herself.

"it’s not that drastic, post an un-retouched photo," one commenter demanded in response.

Versace seems to be the source of the altered snapshot, posting it within a carousel of images from the night on Instagram; others seemed to show her actual appearance.

That same night, Elton John, who wrote the music for the musical, was present, too. He opened up to the audience about his ongoing health battle affecting his eyesight, telling them it's "hard for me to see it, but I love to hear it - and boy it sounded good tonight."

The "Crocodile Rock" singer wrote, "So much love to you Donatella!" in the comments of her post, adding, "Thank you for all your support ❤."
