It was love at first sight when Frannie, a tiny long-haired Chihuahua, met mail carrier Dan Larsen.

“She immediately started kissing him like he had chicken or peanut butter all over his face,” says her owner, Lisa Laskey, a 61-year-old content producer in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. “She would not stop.”

The next day — and every day since — her owner has filmed their greetings.

When Laskey first adopted Frannie, the dog quickly became her constant companion. “I wasn't going anywhere without her because I just loved her so much. So I took her out to get the mail,” she recalls.

In October 2021, Laskey asked her friendly mail carrier if he wanted to meet the newest member of her family. The dog fell fast in love.

"He was cracking up. I was cracking up,” Laskey remembers. “I told my husband about it later in the day, and he's like, 'You've got to get a picture of that.' "

The next day, she took their first video. “All of a sudden my social media started to blow up,” she says. “She is out for the love and nothing more. And it just brings me such joy."

On TikTok the pair have 265,000 followers and 11.7 million likes. On Facebook they have 392,000 additional followers, and some of their videos have 18 million likes alone.

“We got to bring a lot of joy to people,” Laskey says. “We started just having so much fun with the fact that Frannie loved [Dan] so much.”

Most videos start with the dog waiting by the door, then excitedly rushing out to great her beloved mail carrier.

“Every day seems like the first time,” says Larsen, 64, of Bartlett, Illinois. "I love her running out to me. She never gets sick of it, it never gets old, and I just love it.”

They recently celebrated their 500th meeting, and Mayor William D. McLeod declared July 27 "FranDan Day." The dog and mailman were gifted a key to the city.

Larsen loves the way Frannie wags her tail and races toward him.

“You can just tell the only thing she has on her mind when that door opens up is get to me, give me some kisses, and let me hold her,” he says. “That really puts a smile on my face.”
