Dog Becomes ‘Living Art’ While Cooling Off in Public Fountain in Toronto

Did you experience sweltering temperatures this summer? If so, you probably found different ways to escape the heat. Animals also understandably seek refuge from these conditions and do whatever it takes to cool off.

This problem-solving dog’s solution not only helped make him comfortable, but it also made him one with the scenery. In fact, it might take you a moment to figure out he’s not part of the fountain.

Take a look at this video from September 12 to see how he handles a warm summer day.

How did he get up there? This good boy blends into this fountain in Toronto (@torontosight) so well that he looks part of it! He is so regal, posed on the edge underneath the flowing water, and it’s as if he understands that the name of the game is to stand still and be one with the art. Perhaps he is part chameleon, able to adapt his coloring to mask his appearance no matter where he perches. It makes you wonder if this is something he does regularly because the people sitting on the benches in the park are utterly unfazed by this moving sculpture. He’s such a riot! I could watch him cooling off all day.

Is Toronto a Dog-Friendly City?

It sure is! According to Destination Toronto, this city welcomes canine tourists to vacation with their families. There are plenty of dog-friendly hotels to book a room, with some even offering pet-sitting services. There are plenty of parks to visit with your dog, like Berczy Park, which has a fountain featuring 27 dog sculptures and a sassy cat. While that sounds lovely, it’s nothing like seeing this live one. Dogs are also welcomed on Toronto transit trains, buses, and streetcars during the weekends and off-peak hours. This makes it easy to get around the city to the many restaurants, shops, and spas that welcome canine visitors with open arms.

This pup’s epic pose fooled people. Viewer @ellejaiye responded, “I thought this was the best status. Never mind, it’s just the best buddy!” That’s for sure. Another person remarked, “They don’t make real art anymore... oh wait, never mind.” Maybe he’ll set a trend. Viewer @slorri responded, “He’s posing, not chilling, and that’s work!” Good point. Perhaps he’s trying to earn enough tips for a pup cup.

While this Canadian city has much to offer, its biggest attraction might be this perfectly posed pup. However, with the cold weather moving in, we may need to wait until next summer to see this piece of art come to life again.
