Yellowstone fans are once again scratching their heads. Paramount Network is airing season 1 of the prequel 1923 starting on December 8, following the regular broadcast of Yellowstone. Now viewers are wondering: Is there going a season two of 1923?
The confusion is understandable. The spinoff, starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, hasn't had a new episode since February 2023. Now, nearly two years later, the first season of the Paramount+ drama is airing on Paramount Network for the first time. Adding to the concern, beloved spinoff 1883 was just one short season. Rest assured, unlike 1883, there are new episodes of 1923 on the way.
Paramount+ announced nearly two years ago that the show would be returning for a new season. But it experienced filming delays due to the extended actors' and writers' strikes. Finally the series is slated to return. According to Paramount+, season 2 of 1923 will premiere on February 23, 2025. Keep in mind that this season will be exclusive to Paramount+.
According to the network, the new season sounds as intense as the first: "a cruel winter brings new challenges and unfinished business to Jacob and Cara back at Dutton ranch. With harsh conditions and adversaries threatening to end the Dutton legacy, Spencer embarks on an arduous journey home, racing against time to save his family in Montana. Meanwhile, Alexandra sets off on her own harrowing trans-Atlantic journey to find Spencer and reclaim their love."
Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford will reprise their roles, and Brandon Sklenar, Julia Schlaepfer, Jerome Flynn, Darren Mann, Aminah Nieves, Michelle Randolph, and Timothy Dalton will all return.
