Yahoo Lifestyle Doechii frees the nip in see-through vintage dress with hip-high leg slit
Doechii was the undeniable winner of the night at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music Awards that took place in LA on Saturday evening [29 March]. Along with collecting the prize for ‘Woman of the Year’ and delivering a powerfully motivating acceptance speech (that's another YouTube video for us to watch on repeat after exhausting her Grammy's performance), the artist seriously impressed with her look for the occasion.
Arriving on the red – err, make that blue – carpet for the awards ceremony, Doechii wowed in a totally see-through black sleeveless gown with painterly-effect velvet overlay patches. The design is archival Donna Karan, specifically from the 2014 autumn winter collection, and contrasts a high square neckline with a hip-high (!!) leg slit. Further tapping into the ever-popular naked aesthetic, Doechii went braless in the dress to free the nip.
However, far from letting these naked design features take centre stage, Doechii opted for maximalist styling. Her silver coin belt slung low around her hips, paired with the stacks of too-many-to-count bangles that were stacked up both of her wrists added a boho touch. Similarly, she carried a vintage Fendi baguette bag in multi-coloured shades of blue and a spotted pattern that clashed with the design but felt authentic to Doechii's personal style. Metallic strappy sandals that looked even more retro finished the outfit.
As for Doechii's beauty look, she pulled her braided hair into a messy, undone top-knot paired with barely-there clean makeup. All in all, she was glowing!
Fellow attendees, like Tyla, may have opted for multiple outfit changes throughout the evening, but we love the fact Doechii chose to stay in her stunning Donna Karan dress all night long.
