A New Docuseries About Princess Diana's Death Is in the Works
Princess Diana's death will be examined in a new docuseries. Who Killed Diana? was announced ahead of the 27th anniversary of the royal's passing. EverWonder Studio has teamed up with Emma Cooper’s Empress Films "to cast a new light on the death of" the British royal with the three-part series.
According to Deadline, Who Killed Diana? will mark the "first of a broader franchise" between EverWonder and Empress, which "will look at the shocking deaths of iconic figures, hoping to uncover new information about the circumstances that led to the notable deaths, while examining the human stories and historical context at the center of these cases."
Jon Adler, head of talent and content development at EverWonder, revealed (via Deadline) that the "new franchise will not merely revisit deaths of famous figures," but "will actively drive the story forward with new voices and fresh insight into compelling and complex details.”
Cooper, who directed Netflix's The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes, will direct and executive produce Who Killed Diana? "Exploring legendary women through investigative journalistic documentaries is a passion of mine," Cooper said.
"Just as we did with The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe, we’ve taken a story the world thought it knew and uncovered hidden truths," she added. "I am committed to approaching this beloved and iconic woman’s story with fresh perspectives, new voices, and previously untold information."

When did Princess Diana die?
Prince William and Prince Harry's mother died on Aug. 31, 1997 following a car crash in Paris. According to a police report, Diana "was seriously injured but still alive after the impact" and was taken to Paris' Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, where she died following emergency surgery. She was 36 years old.

What is Who Killed Diana? about?
Per Deadline, the docuseries will "explore the circumstances surrounding the death" of the Princess, and will "feature rare and, in some cases, the first-ever interviews with several key sources connected to the accident."
What was Operation Paget?
Operation Paget, an inquiry launched in 2004, investigated "a number of matters" surrounding the car crash in Paris. The primary purpose of Operation Paget, as noted in the report, "was to assess any credible evidence that supported the allegation of conspiracy to murder, not to re-investigate the issues looked at by the French investigation."
The findings of the investigation concluded that "there was no conspiracy to murder any of the occupants of the car" and that it "was a tragic accident."
