Yahoo Lifestyle ‘The Diplomat’: Bradley Whitford Joins The Fray With Allison Janney & Keri Russell In Season 3 First Look Photos
The Diplomat is returning for another season this year and, while Netflix hasn’t said quite yet when the new season will debut, they are finally giving audiences a glimpse.
The streamer released some first look photos on Thursday, which feature newest cast member Bradley Whitford, who Deadline previously reported will be reuniting with his former The West Wing co-star Allison Janney to play her husband and the First Gentleman of the United States.

The photos don’t reveal much about what’s to come, other than some expected interaction between Grace Penn (Janney), her husband Todd Penn (Whitford), Keri Russell’s Kate Wyler and Rufus Sewell’s Hal Wyler.
One of the photos features all four of them standing in someone’s home staring at a tray of oysters. In that photo, as well as one other, Whitford’s character has a bandage wrapped around one of his hands as he’s sipping on a martini. The third and final photo released Thursday shows Hal and Kate sitting next to each other in what appears to be a diplomatic meeting, but it’s unclear who they’re meeting with.

Season 3 of The Diplomat picks up after a shocking Season 2 cliffhanger, which saw the President suddenly die, with Janney’s VP Grace Penn taking his place. The new season is currently in production in and around New York.
The series received an early renewal in October, ahead of the Season 2 premiere.
From creator, showrunner, and executive producer Debora Cahn, The Diplomat also stars Ali Ahn, Rory Kinnear, and Ato Essandoh. It is executive produced by Janice Williams, Alex Graves, and Keri Russell.
