Who Died Tonight on Tonight's Episode of ‘Chicago Fire?
Tonight’s episode of Chicago Fire was promoted as: Who doesn’t make it out alive? And there were three potential victims: Severide’s half-brother Jack Damon (Michael Bradway), who was trapped in a building on fire; Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo), who came dangerously close to being struck when she ran to push someone out of the way who was in danger of being hit by the same car; and Chief Dom Pascal's (Dermot Mulroney) wife Monica (KaDee Strickland).
In the end, it was Monica Pascal, who was hit by another driver when the intersection where the collision took place had flashing yellow lights for both directions, as she was driving to meet her husband for their celebratory 15th wedding anniversary dinner.
The relationship between the chief and his wife has been a difficult one with a lot of ups and downs, but it’s because he loves her too much. In fact, the reason he’s at Firehouse 51 is because he moved back to Chicago to follow his wife, who left him in Miami and had returned to Chicago. But he couldn’t let her go.
Things appeared to be on the upswing for the couple. Monica rejected an offer from her sister to throw them an anniversary dinner so she and Dom could celebrate alone. And with a little help from Mouch, Pascal had found the perfect gift for his wife.

That same Friday night, while Pascal was sitting in a posh restaurant with a view of Chicago, Firehouse 51 is called out to the scene of a multiple car crash. One of the drivers was out of his vehicle, the one that Kidd saved, but they needed the jaws of life to pry the second victim, the woman, from her vehicle.
It was then that Mouch made the shocking discovery that it was Monica Pascal.
Violet (Hanako Greensmith) and Novak (Jocelyn Hudon) tried to stabilize Monica, and they got her to Chicago Gaffney as quickly as possible. Mouch rode along to help, and he called the chief using Monica’s phone telling him to get to the hospital ASAP.

When Pascal arrived, Violet was in tears, shaking her head, but Pascal was in denial. It wasn't until Dr. Archer (Steven Weber) broke the news to him that Monica had passed that he began to comprehend it and was shattered by the loss of his wife while all the members of Firehouse 51 looked on.
