We're only three games into Celebrity Jeopardy! season 3, but fans are already predicting which famous face may just take it all.
The popular spinoff to the Jeopardy! TV franchise is airing Wednesday nights on ABC, and viewers are watching a star-studded cast compete for the $1 million charity prize. While it's still some time before we know who will emerge victorious, folks already feel that comedian Margaret Cho may be the one to beat after an incredible performance in the quarterfinals on January 22.
When competing against actress Rachel Brosnahan and actor Seth Green, Margaret stunned viewers with her knowledge skills. Per TV Insider, she soared through every round, and she managed to maintain the lead position while heading into each round of the episode. What's more, when it came to the Final Jeopardy! round, she had amassed a $47,100 goal in comparison to Rachel's $7,000 and Seth's $2,800.
But where Margaret truly shined was when answering the clue from the "Coming Attractions" category in Final Jeopardy!. Having to guess the clue that correctly answered the sentence, "Dubbed 'The Voice of God,' Don LaFontaine was best known for this 3-word phrase that set the stage for many a movie trailer," Margaret surprised everyone by guessing "In a World." She not only had the right answer, she won $54,100 and advanced to the semifinal round of Celebrity Jeopardy! season 3.
After the episode aired on TV, Jeopardy! Reddit went wild with what they'd just seen. What's more, they couldn't stop commenting how Margaret was one to watch out for this season.
"New favorite to win this Margaret dominating," one user wrote. "Ike Barinholtz vibes from Margaret’s performance. I love it," another declared, referencing season 1 winner Ike Barinholtz's performance on Celebrity Jeopardy!. "So happy for Margaret! Truly impressive performance," a different viewer added.
Well, if Margaret played this well her first time on Celebrity Jeopardy!, we have to continue watching to see if she actually can become the next champion!
