Zachary Gordon and Robert Capron starred in three 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' movies together
These Diary of a Wimpy Kid stars are all grown up.
On Tuesday, Sept. 24, Wimpy Kid author Jeff Kinney shared a photo on X of actors Zachary Gordon and Robert Capron, who played the leads in three live-action movies from 2010 to 2012 based on his bestselling book series.
"These kids and their backwards hats and Mountain Dews and chocolate chip cookies," Kinney, 53, wrote in a caption. "Good seeing you fellas."
Gordon, now 26, starred in Wimpy Kid as Greg Heffley, while Capron, also 26, appeared as Rowley, Greg's friend. The ensemble also included Steve Zahn, Rachael Harris, Devon Bostick and Chloë Grace Moretz, among others.
Gordon, Capron and much of the original cast reprised their roles in two sequels before the series got a reboot with an entirely new cast for 2017's The Long Haul, then an animated adaptation.

Capron had fun with their reunion photo after it spread on social media. "Yes chef," he wrote in an Instagram post Sept. 24, featuring a screengrabbed X post of the photo that mispelled his name as "Robert Apron." Capron added an image of his face superimposed over a kitchen apron as a punch line.
"Would buy," the official Diary of a Wimpy Kid Instagram account wrote in a comment.
Both Gordon and Capron remain working actors, with the former having appeared in movies like American Pie Presents: Girls' Rules, Dreamcatcher and Max Dagan in recent years. Capron, meanwhile, has appeared on a number of short films in recent years and shared on Instagram in 2023 that he worked as a writers' assistant on Disney+'s The Muppets Mayhem series. Gordon has also pivoted to writing and performing music in recent years, with three singles released on Spotify.

Both actors appear to share fond memories of making the Wimpy Kid movies. Gordon shared multiple images of himself and Zahn, 56, who played his onscreen dad in the series, on Instagram for Father's Day in 2023.
The pair also posed together for a mini-Wimpy Kid reunion in a photo Gordon shared to social media on March 12, which Gordon captioned, "Zoo-Wee-Mama 🧀🤞🏻," in reference to the movies.
