Dame Deborah James has revealed her delight at receiving letters from the public, saying: “How on earth are they getting here is a little miracle.”

The podcaster, known as Bowel Babe, said it was a “little miracle” that letters have made it to her parents’ door without their address and she said they are “giving us life”.

Instead, she revealed, the letters had been addressed with notes such as, “Dame Deborah somewhere in Woking” and “Dame Deborah living at her parents house” but were still making it to their door.

Alongside a picture of a pile of letters, she wrote via Instagram stories: “I think my parents have the best Royal Mail service ever! The attempted addressed letters are giving us life!

“How on earth are they getting here is a little miracle.”

The latest comes after she enjoyed a romantic morning with her husband Sebastien at RHS Garden Wisley, Surrey.

It was the first time she had left the house in 10 days after she said she had been feeling “too weak”.

Her Bowelbabe Fund for Cancer Research UK has already reached more than six million.

Last week, Prince William came to her family home to present the author with her Damehood.

They enjoyed afternoon tea and champagne in the sunshine.

She said: “It’s quite surreal having a royal pop in at home, and yes you can imagine the cleaning antics and preparation went off the scale - but it was all irrelevant because William was so kind and he put us all at ease.

“He is clearly passionate about improving oncology outcomes as the President of the Royal Marsden. It was such a special day for my whole family, making memories to last a life time. He’s welcome back any time!”

Her book How to Live When You Could Be Dead has shot to the top of the Amazon bestsellers’ list.

She has admitted she is “gutted” she won’t see her new book hit the shelves.
