Dave Hughes updates fans on health status following NYE accident
It's been a New Year's to remember for the Aussie comedian after a horrific surfing accident.
Dave 'Hughesy' Hughes has updated fans on his health status following a New Year's Eve surfing accident that left him with a dislocated shoulder and significant nerve damage.
Hughesy was rushed to hospital following a surfing accident on New Year's Eve while enjoying some time on the Gold Coast.
The comedian revealed that he dislocated his shoulder in the surf, resulting in nerve damage and the "worst pain" of his life which lifeguards treated with an emergency painkiller.
"Had my least sober NYE in 30+ years. Green whistle came after two hours of worst pain of my life, plus morphine and the rest of them," he captioned the gallery of images.
"Shoulder dislocation whilst surfing. ‘9 out of 10 level nerve damage.’ Shout out to wife, @surfersparadiseslsc, and GC medical professionals for their much-needed help! Will be in a sling for a while, not sure when my next right-handed high five will be."
Taking to Instagram this week to give his followers an update, Hughesy made light of the painful situation which now means he can't manage to feed himself properly.
