As seen in a new photo shared to Instagram on Thursday, Jan. 16, Ruah was holding up a clapboard from the set of the CBS crime drama series, which had her name listed as the director.

Ruah, 41, who was hiding part of her face behind the clapboard, appeared to be all smiles in the background. She cheekily captioned the photo, "Peek a boo @theequalizercbs … I see you."

Fans were instantly overjoyed to see Ruah in a director's position, with one of her followers cheering her on in the comments by writing, "You go girl."

Some fans were hoping that Ruah's directing gig would mean an appearance in the show.

"Love it but need you in front of the camera as well❤️" one of her followers commented.

Other fans expressed how much they still miss Ruah on NCIS: LA, where she played Special Agent Kensi Blye for nearly 15 years.

"Wish this was Ncis La" one fan wrote about her newest gig, while someone else said, "Yes this is amazing!! But missing my NCIS LA 🙌."

Ruah left CBS' Los Angeles-based police procedural in 2023, though she has since returned to the franchise to direct episodes of NCIS and NCIS: Hawaii
