Yahoo Lifestyle Daniel Craig calls out Stephen Colbert for mispronouncing his name: 'I have a bone to pick with you'
“That is a subtle difference and I apologize," the host told the "Knives Out" star.

During his sixth visit to The Late Show on Monday, the James Bond alum took a moment to educate host Stephen Colbert on how to properly pronounce his surname. “I have a bone to pick with you,” Craig declared during their conversation. “Six shows. Say my name.”
A surprised Colbert then repeated his name back to the actor. “Oh, now you’re doing it right,” Craig said suspiciously, prompting Colbert to reply, “Why? Am I saying Creig?”

Daniel Craig and Stephen ColbertFor those confused like Colbert, Craig explained that his surname has a diphthong, making it sound like "Cray-ig" rather than the shortened "Creig." Craig was quick to point out the small, yet important distinction, adding, “I don’t say Col-bett!”
He then proceeded to repeat the correct pronunciation several more times to Colbert until he got it. “Ooh, I hear the difference, that is subtle,” the host conceded. “That is a subtle difference and I apologize.”
Craig thanked him for his apology. “I don’t want you, Daniel Cray-ig, mad at me,” Colbert continued. “Daniel Creig? F--- that guy. Daniel Cray-ig? I’m so sorry. Please accept my apology.”
It wasn’t until the pair shook hands that Colbert, whose own name is often mispronounced, realized just how long he’d been doing the same thing to Craig. “Hold on a second. They’re telling — have I done that for six shows?” he asked. “And I’ve done Creig every time instead of Cray-ig.”

Every single time. “Six shows,” Craig confirmed, slapping his hand on Colbert’s desk as the audience let out a surprised gasp. “It’s just fine. It’s whatever.”
In response, Colbert extended an olive branch, adding, “You can call me Colbert, if you want.”
