Daniel Cosgrove Set to Have “All My Children ”Reunion with Cameron Mathison as He Joins “General Hospital”

Soap opera vet Daniel Cosgrove is ready to make a splash in Port Charles.

The 54-year-old actor, who played Aiden Jennings for three years on Days of Our Lives from 2014 to 2016 and Scott Chandler on All My Children, is set to make his debut on General Hospital on Friday, March 21, PEOPLE confirms.

Cosgrove joins as Ezra Boyle, a "consummate politician" who will be interacting with Cameron Mathison's Drew Quartermaine, according to TV Insider, who broke the news of his casting.

"At first, he seems to be aligning with Drew Quartermaine and there’s some shenanigans going on, but the character is kind of mixing it up with a lot of the cast, from Genie Francis, Mayor Collins, to the Quartermaines, to just kind of creating a little bit of a thorn in the side to some of the good folk of Port Charles," Cosgrove told the outlet.

"He comes across as maybe a little arrogant and full of himself, but it’s definitely been fun so far. I’m working with such a fantastic cast."

Cosgrove has been filming for the last month and a half, he told the outlet, and the opportunity surprised him when it arose as he'd taken a break from acting following the 2023 writers' strike.

"I was kind of thinking I was out of the business. And then this just reignited something in me, such an appreciation and such an excitement and a love," he said.

Working with Mathison, 55, who has been on General Hospital since 2021, is a bonus, too, as the actors previously overlapped on All My Children in the late '90s.

"I really hadn’t seen him since probably around that time...so we were just doing a lot of reminiscing, and we looked at some pictures of those old Pine Valley days and it was really great," Cosgrove said of the reunion.

"We were in our mid-20s then and you’re working to get your start. I was single and now here we are, in our 50s, I’m married with four kids, and we’re creating some more memories.”
