‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 33 Semifinals Hit Season-High Audience & Break Fan Voting Record Again

EXCLUSIVE: Dancing with the Stars Season 33 sashayed its way to a ratings win ahead of the finale.

Audiences are clearly chomping at the bit to see which of the five remaining stars will take home this year’s mirrorball trophy, because Tuesday night’s semifinals grew over the 500th episode celebration the week prior to reach a season-high 5.2M same-day viewers, according to Nielsen data.

That’s also up from the 5.1M who tuned in to last season’s semifinals, which is certainly a win for the series, which returned to ABC last year after a one-season exclusive run on Disney+.

In terms of the key demos, the Dancing with the Stars semifinals were the top program of the night among adults 18-49 with a 0.75 rating, as well as among all key Women demos including Women 18-34 (1.10 rating), Women 18-49 (1.04 rating) and Women 25-54 (1.27 rating).

Much like total viewers, the episode was up over both the previous week and the prior season’s semifinals as well.

Fan engagement has also been incredibly strong this season, breaking another voting record. According to Disney, more than 20M votes were received Tuesday night for the five remaining teams.

Deadline has a recap here, in case you missed it. The finals are next week, ahead of Thanksgiving.
