Despite the media storm surrounding it, John Galliano's dramatic Paris show went ahead on Sunday in the form of a closed presentation.

Models walked the room at 34 Avenue Fock dressed in elaborate coats, glamorous gowns and billowing silhouettes in an array of luxe fabrics. "It was quintessentially Galliano," said one fashion editor.
While the mood was reportedly "sombre," model Karlie Kloss opened what could be Galliano's last show with a flourish.

Christian Dior CEO Sidney Toledano, who is said to be "devastated" over Galliano's recent anti-semitic remarks, made an appearance, telling press, "this is a business which has licenses and tomorrow we will show the collection in the showrooms as usual...I am here to prove that business goes on...and to support the teams."
Galliano's couturiers came out at the end of the presentation to take a bow in place of the designer, who famously used to walk the runway for up to two minutes.
Whether intentional or not, Galliano's show soundtrack, which included Adele's 'Rolling in the Deep and Coldplay's Viva La Vida, heavily referenced "the end of an era".
