Curb Your Enthusiasm EP Hints at More to Come: ‘Larry’s Not Done’

Well, this is prettay, prettay good news for Curb Your Enthusiasm fans.

Larry David’s long-running HBO comedy wrapped up in April after 12 seasons (read our finale recap here), but that doesn’t mean that David is retiring. “We’re still in an office together, next to each other. Things are still happening,” Curb executive producer Jeff Schaffer tells The Hollywood Reporter. “We’re not running out of ideas, because people are still terrible… Larry said to me the other day, ‘What are we going to do with all these ideas?’ I said, ‘Let’s figure it out.’ So, we’re going to figure it out.”

When might we start to see these ideas on TV, though? “Not weeks. Maybe months. Definitely years,” Schaffer says, but he does hint: “We’re talking about talking about stuff.”

Curb may be “done in its current form, but Larry’s not done,” Schaffer points out. “If comedy were beer, he’s a master brewer. I think he’s going to still make beer, but what are we going to pour it into? I don’t know yet.”

One possible continuation that Schaffer is eyeing: a spinoff centered on J.B. Smoove’s outlandish character Leon. “I’ve definitely been chatting with J.B., who has a million ideas. I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Leon. I don’t know how or when, but Leon is going to get his.”
