Cracker Barrel Just Announced New Menu Items, But There's a Major Catch
Fans have been noticing big changes at Cracker Barrel, and it seems like the decor isn't the only thing getting a facelift! The restaurant chain is testing out a new menu, but not just anyone can sample the new offerings.
In what Cracker Barrel is calling the "biggest menu test in the brand’s history," 20 new items are being featured on menus at Cracker Barrel locations, but only in select Texas cities (Abilene, Allen, Amarillo, Arlington, Benbrook, Cypress, Houston, Kingwood, Lubbock, Midland, Weatherford, and Wichita Falls). What's more, the test only runs until August 5.
Here's a look at some of the new menu items:
Hashbrown Casserole Shepherd's Pie
Green Chile Cornbread
Chicken n' Dumplin Soup
Cinnamon Bread French Toast
Banana Pudding
Southern BBQ Ribs
Slow-Braised Pot Roast
Chicken n' Rice
Creole Shrimp
Crispy Tender Dippers
Signature Saucy Chicken Sandwich
Cracker Barrel teased the news on Instagram and was met with mixed responses from fans. One commenter said, "Looks super good!" Another wrote, "Stop changing my beloved cracker barrel," and one fan chimed in with, "Hope ur not changing it too much and making sure all locations are consistent."
Senior Vice President of Operations Cammie Spillyards-Schaefer addressed potential concerns, noting, "For nearly 55 years, guests have known and loved us for our authentic, homestyle cooking, and that's not going away, we've only added more flavor and crave to the menu and made it easier to navigate...we look forward to gaining valuable feedback, from both our guests and employees on the test."
