By April 1st she was placed in a coma, with doctors inducing labour so they could protect both 27-year-old Angela and her unborn child.

"I feel like I'm a miracle walking," Angela, who is also mum to 11-month-old Emily, told the US Today show.

"Obviously nobody expected that I was going to get that sick, so no, absolutely not, I did not expect to deliver my child,'' she said.

"After all the medication and everything I just woke up and all of a sudden I didn't have my belly anymore. It was just extremely mind-blowing."

Angela was released from hospital on Saturday, receiving a standing ovation from healthcare workers along the corridor, however she still hasn’t been able to hold her adorable daughter, Ava, who is in intensive care.

“Baby Ava is still in the NICU and I still haven’t been able to see her in person but so thankful for amazing nurses who send me updated photos!!!” Angela wrote on Instagram.

Angela said she needs to test negative for the coronavirus twice before she can finally hold her baby girl, who has tested negative for COVID-19.

A GoFundMe page set up for Angela has nearly reached $50,000.

“Hospital bills are crazy and Angela and David are small business owners so their insurance does not cover most of her stay,” it reads.
