Constance Hall's husband speaks out after horrific accident
Almost two months after his horror motorcycle crash, Constance Hall's husband Denim Cooke has shared an update on his recovery.
Denim had been riding with a friend in Perth on August 16 when he got into a serious accident and had to be airlifted to hospital.
Calling the accident an "unexpected recent low point" Denim took to Facebook to write, "Suffering with mainly a stack of broken bones including a crushed spine and collapsed lungs was business as usual (I assumed) however apparently all my physical bodies unusual quirks where soon deferred as the importance of my brain injury was quickly noticed and took immediate precedence.
"The accident had broken my spine in four places however the concern wasn’t that my spinal cord was nearly severed. It was more the brain injuries I had suffered, monitoring the pressure of my brain with a big metal gage drilled into my head, because of the potential irreversible brain damage looming."

He continued, saying that Constance had revealed only a tiny portion of what was really going on behind the scenes to her followers and that the reality of the situation could have been so much worse.
"Con has since informed me about her judgement call when the media started their usual Wolves in Sheep’s clothing tactics, she released information about my bodies injuries and kept my brains potentially permanent lack of response between her and the family until she could speak to me about it, she was protecting my state, once again, as much as she could.
"For that I’m grateful yet it’s time to come clean!! There was a time there where the hope of me ever being the man I am today, able to communicate like as I do and maintain these relationships was minimal."
Denim said Constance had been warned not to expect he'd be himself after leaving the hospital.
"Along with the decent brain haemorrhage and spinal damage I was in ICU given the best care there is, however given little chance of a full recovery and my wife was repeatedly warned by doctors not to expect me back even close to my previous self , mentally or physically. At one point a nurse even told her 'that would be a miracle' a moment in my wife’s life she will never forget."
Denim explained that he'd been in a coma and remembered very little from the period he was in hospital, or even the time right before the accident.
"In this time Constance was loyally at my side and also often dancing in my damaged mind. It took some time however this beautiful lady escaped my internal world and eventually appeared to my astonishment before me in person.
"And that is the moment I will never forget. The moment that I knew what was real and what wasn’t, the moment that Con walking towards me went from foggy to reality and I knew she really was mine and the paradise I had been dreaming is my actual reality. The hospital, meds, guards and patients were temporary as was the foggie and darkness.
"My life gained clarity in her beautiful face," he said.
Denim said that he believed Constance's love and support was what got him back to being his usual self.
"Everyone soon commented on the change in me ...... yeah a few scars long term pain, been there ... nothing new , however...
"This accident offered me so much more, my mind now seemed more relaxed. I is calmer inside and heaps more patient.. ... my mind is overcoming its trauma and calculating the experience in a positive way. Internally I recognise that I’m less agitated by many things and have a larger sense of grateful appreciation for the most simple things. I’m even easier to get along with ...
"Constance was and is my everything , she fought for me when I wasn’t able myself, and did the greatest job of balancing her compassion with clever logic."
He continued, thanking the paramedics, nurses and people who have supported Constance during the difficult time without him by her side, "I thank you all and make the promise to love life with this woman like nothing else.
"I understand many weren’t as lucky, everyday people like you and me and have a much greater compassion for those left with life changing disabilities."
He finished by writing, "Lastly I promise to love my kids and my life more responsibly .... something like this could easily have had negative aspects, yet my commitment is to make the effort to turn it all positive. My beautiful wife thinks she has a new man full of love, yet it was her unwavering love that saved me , her constant love that changed me and her beautiful love that I will honour for life."
Denim's followers were quick to comment on the post with their support.
"You are a very lucky man Denim, you survived when many wouldn’t have been as lucky, and I’m sure the beautiful Constance was a massive help in your recovery too.. my heart sank for her when she made your accident public and I looked out for every update she posted. Hope you make a full and great recovery good sir," one user wrote.
Another added, "So extremely happy that you are ok Denim, and Constance Hall you are so strong I admire you so much, that would've been such a terrifying experience I can't even begin to imagine what you have been through. Praying for more miracles for you both and your gorgeous family while you take this time to heal and process."
