Colman Domingo Continues His Flawless Awards Season Style Streak in Custom Valentino at the 2025 Golden Globes
Domingo is nominated for best performance by a male actor in a motion picture – drama for his role in 'Sing Sing'
Colman Domingo is never one to shy away from making a statement with fashion.
The Sing Sing actor, 55, who was nominated for best performance by a male actor in a motion picture – drama in the film, walked the red carpet at the 2025 Golden Globes wearing a Valentino look designed for him by the label’s creative director Alessandro Michele.
Per usual his accessories were also on point. This time, he wore Valentino Garavani and Boucheron pieces to complement his look.

Domingo consistently landed on best dressed lists in 2024, becoming known for his sophisticated and daring style.
Kicking the year off at the 2024 Golden Globes, the Rustin star looked sharp in an all-black Louis Vuitton suit featuring a mandarin-collar tailored jacket with pearl buttons and two golden brooches.
He accessorized with a watch by Omega and black dress shoes.
Domingo kept his style streak going by channeling his Western character for the 96th annual Academy Awards in March when he arrived wearing a black, double-breasted suit adorned with intricate buttons and flared pants over a pair of chic, steel-toe cowboy boots.
Like his Golden Globes look, he also wore an Omega watch plus a brooch bow tie by David Yurman.
Speaking to E! At the event, the actor explained his inspiration for the evening: "I wanted to just shine like a diamond.”
For arguably fashion’s biggest night, Domingo honored the late Chadwick Boseman and André Leon Talley at the 2024 Met Gala in May.
"They both wore capes when they were at the Met. Everything I do, I feel like it's gotta be for the culture. It's gotta be more than just for me,” the Euphoria actor said during an interview with Live from E!.
He continued, "I wanted to honor these brothers who were here before me as well."
For the annual event, held to benefit the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in Manhattan, Domingo wore a white Willy Chavarria suit jacket with structured shoulders and a cape that trailed behind him on the floor — reminiscent of when Boseman walked the 2018 Met Gala red carpet in a white Versace cape adorned with embroidered gold crosses — and black wide-leg pants.
His corsage matched the black and white look, which was paired with Christian Louboutin shoes.
Domingo also added a bouquet of white peace lilies — which often symbolize healing for people who have lost a loved one — wrapped in a black satin cloth. He rounded his look off with silver and gold jewelry and gray contact lenses.
Though paying homage to the Black Panther star and Vogue’s red carpet correspondent, Domingo did tell Live From E! he was “really gagging” after meeting Cardi B for the first time at the event.

Toward the end of 2024, the Color Purple star spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about his red carpet look previously worn at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures Gala in Los Angeles in October, revealing just what was inside his tiny cat bag that evening.
The accessory was a tribute to Karl Lagerfeld's beloved cat, Choupette.
According to Domingo, without his tiny cat bag, the look would have been "just a man in a suit."
"I thought it's fun and it's a conversation starter," Domingo said. "I love standing around talking to someone, and they finally notice I have the cat. They're like, 'What is that?' I'm like, 'It's actually a bag. It's actually a little bag, and I could keep a few items in there.'"
He added: "I kept my ID and $20 because you never know if you need $20 for whatever reason. And also it was custom Valentino... so I just wanted to have fun."
