Yahoo Lifestyle Cole Davies Has Three Word Message to Supercross Competition
After four races in the 250SX West Division, Cole Davies sits comfortably fourth in the championship standings. 15 points behind the championship lead is still less than a race gap to the top spot. The fifth race will mark the halfway point in the western subdivision before the next five will determine the 2025 champion. That next race will be the first East/West Showdown in Indianapolis.
On Saturday night, all eyes will be on the pivotal race in Arlington. Despite the pressure and tight championship battle, Davies had a bold three-word message during Friday’s Media Day event.
“I’m feeling confident,” said Davies.
Confident he should be. With two podiums in the last two races and an impressive charge through the field at Anaheim 1, he continues to turn heads every weekend the west series takes the dirt. Now for his second career Triple Crown, one would think the pressure is hard on him.
Davies, 17, is more excited to get the race underway.
“It’s the halfway season mark, so I’m feeling really good on the bike,” he shared. “Just got to focus on getting some good starts and we should be good.”
His fanbase has been steadily growing round after round, and it’s no secret he has gained the eyes of broadcasters and writers from his various stories of his young career. In fact, he is one of the fan favorites besides Deegan to win the 250SX West championship when the series concludes in May.
“It’s really cool, and my confidence has gotten better throughout the season,” he said. “But coming into the season, I was set on doing good. I’m excited to get it underway.”
The New Zealander will have three main event races in AT&T Stadium to determine the overall winner and capture the most championship points. Coverage begins at 6 p.m. CT live on Peacock and on NBC Sports Radio, Sirius XM Radio Channel 85.
