NSW beach town crowned Aussie's top travel pick
The top Aussie town of 2020 has been announced, and beachy NSW residents will be delighted with the results.
None other than Northern NSW’s Coff’s Harbour is the nation’s top destination according to local travel agency Wotif.
The yearly list honours the country’s tops ten destinations based on an index that takes in affordability, accommodation and traveller interest-based off their data.
“Competition was tough, but Coffs Harbour was the pick of the bunch and a deserving winner of the Wotif Aussie Town of the Year Award for 2020,” says Wotif managing director Daniel Finch.
“Size matters, and when it comes to hospitality, scenery and community, there’s nowhere bigger than the home of the Big Banana. We hope that it ‘apeels’ to many and encourages Aussies to get travelling to this coastal gem!”
The announcement comes as the country begins to recover from the devastation of this summer’s bushfires, with local tourism being pushed as a way to help rural communities back on their feet.
Domestic flights sale
In even better new Jetstar has announced it’s million seat sale just in time to take advantage of the coastal destinations that pepper this year’s list.
The sale will offer one million seats on domestic flights at a reduced rate, the best of the bunch being a $31 flight from Melbourne to Adelaide.
Standout fares include Melbourne to Busselton in Western Australian for $109 and Sydney to the Gold Coast for $45.
The sale runs from today, Thursday 5th March 2020, until next Tuesday, the 10th March 2020.
