This is why the Clooneys weren't at Princess Eugenie's wedding

It was well known that Princess Eugenie’s wedding was going to be a star-studded affair.

And while the ceremony at St George’s Chapel in Windsor was attended by the likes of Demi Moore, Liv Tyler, Kate Moss, and Naomi Campbell, there were two famous faces noticeably absent.

George and Amal Clooney were tipped to be among the Hollywood royalty to attend the wedding between Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, especially given they were both there for Prince Harry and Meghan’s nuptials in May.

But neither Amal or George were in attendance on Friday.

Amal as it turns out was unable to attend the wedding as she was giving a keynote speech at the Pennsylvania Conference for Women.

Tennis star and super mum Serena Williams was another of the keynote speakers alongside Amal.

It’s unknown why George didn’t attend the wedding. It is believed he is being kept busy by some new projects. Or perhaps he simply didn’t want to go without his glamorous wife.

The actor and groom actually know each other through Casamigos, George’s tequila company, which he co-founded with Rande Gerber. Jack is the company’s European brand manager, and it’s believed he remains friends with George.

But while they weren’t there in person, the Clooneys were certainly there in spirit. Get it?!

Jack had previously revealed he would still be serving the tequila at the royal wedding.

“I’m in charge of drinks, and we’ll be serving Casamigos,” he told the Daily Mail.

And a spokesperson from the tequila brand confirmed to INSIDER that a selection of bespoke Casamigos cocktails would be served to guests throughout the wedding weekend.
