Cindy Crawford Regrets Nude Photoshoots
At 48, Cindy Crawford is still one of the world's most in demand models. The brunette beauty has appeared on countless magazine covers around the world, and strutted her stuff on the runway for nearly every major label.
With a successful skincare line under her belt and two children following in her model footsteps, some might say Crawford could have no regrets - but the supermodel says otherwise.
“The only things I've ever regretted were when my inner voice, or whatever you want to call it, told me one thing and I let other people talk over that," she told the Huffington Post.
"I've done a lot of nude pictures that I haven't regretted - the ones I have regretted were the ones I knew something didn't feel right about the situation and I did it anyway. Only you know what's right for you."
Crawford has done several nude shoots throughout her career, including one just last year for W magazine and several for Playboy when she was younger.
While the mother of two might have some regrets, she was named the highest-paid model in the world in 1995 by Forbes, with her defining beauty mole setting her apart from the competition.
"I would get teased by the other kids in school, so I definitely wanted to get it removed. But my mother always said, 'You know what your mole looks like, you don't know what the scar is going to look like,'" Crawford said.
The model says she's now glad she never had her trademark mole removed, saying it's something that makes people remember her.
"It made a lot of women who also have beauty marks identify with me," Crawford said, adding that her definition of beauty keeps changing as she gets older.
"I've always found that beauty and confidence are synonymous," explained Crawford. "If you feel confident, that's what people see. I always tell people to fake it until they make it."
Perhaps its advice she'll pass on to her daughter, Kaia, who recently started modeling herself.
Crawford said that while her daughter was a bit too young to begin a serious modeling career, the interest was there.
"I could help guide her and help her navigate," she said. "I had a great experience and managed to avoid a lot of the pitfalls of the fashion business,” explained Crawford. “So if she did want to do it, I could be her stage mum!"
