Ciara Celebrates the Launch of Her Bebe Capsule With Alessandra Ambrosio, Talks Touring and Style Inspiration
The makings of Ciara’s tomboy-chic style were apparent at the singer’s Bebe capsule launch party in New York on Thursday: guests including Alessandra Ambrosio and Chanel Iman posed in front of a brick facade plastered with a pink neon sign, moody bouquets lined each bar and the menu consisted of colorful cocktails spiked with tequila and naturally, Ciara’s very own Ten to One rum.
“It’s a pinch yourself kind of moment,” the Grammy-winning artist told WWD. “I think back to me being a young girl and knowing how much brands like Bebe were a part of my world.”

Ciara’s debut album “Goodies” came out 20 years ago, when she was still in high school. “Stores like Bebe were always the first stop,” the singer said, reminiscing on the brand’s signature logo tops she sported as a teen.
Her new capsule, available to shop now, features a full range of apparel and accessories such as knitwear, outerwear, watches and handbags. The collection even includes nods to her children with Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson — various shoe and loungewear styles bear the names Sienna, Win and Amora.
For Ciara, family and fashion coincide: her earliest style icons were her own relatives.
“My grandma was always very clear on her vision from a fashion perspective,” she explained. “She had her own personal seamstress. She was all about the detail.”
Ciara’s father, meanwhile, informed her love of streetwear. She frequently borrowed vintage Nautica pieces from his wardrobe.
“He was in the army, so he would have his fatigues creased out,” she enthused.
Her father’s influence can even be seen in the collection — at the launch party, Ciara sported a camo print chain-mail minidress, pairing it with stacked platform boots and an army green shearling coat, also from her Bebe capsule.
Ciara was also accompanied by her longtime stylist, Marni Senofonte, who dressed the singer on her recently concluded tour with Missy Elliott and Busta Rhymes. Interactions with fans and having her children cheer her on backstage, Ciara said, were major highlights of the North American jaunt, which included 24 sold-out shows.
“To share the stage with them was very trippy and surreal,” the singer said. “It was one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had in my career. I feel so blessed that we got to go out there and rock together every single night.”
