Christopher Ciccone, Artist and Brother of Madonna, Dies at 63
Christopher Ciccone, an artist, interior designer and younger brother of Madonna, has died, his rep Brad Taylor confirmed to Variety. He was 63.
Ciccone died Friday after a battle with cancer, according to a statement from his family.

Ciccone, who got his start as a choreographer and dancer, was a frequent collaborator of Madonna’s during her rise in pop stardom in the 1980s. He appeared in several music videos, including the one for his sister’s 1984 hit single “Lucky Star,” and served as art director on her 1990 Blond Ambition World Tour. He was also the tour director for Madonna’s The Girlie Show tour in 1993.
Aside from Madonna, Ciccone worked with singers Dolly Parton and Tony Bennett as the director on music videos for their respective songs, “Peace Train” and “God Bless the Child.”
In 2008, Ciccone released the bestselling autobiography “Life With My Sister Madonna,” in which he wrote about their childhood and time working together, along with Madonna’s romantic relationships.
Ciccone went on to work as an interior designer and, in 2012, he launched a footwear line called Ciccone Collection.
Christopher Gerard Ciccone was born in Pontiac, Mich., on Nov. 22, 1960. He was the fifth child and third son of Madonna Louise (Fortin) and Silvio Patrick Ciccone. He grew up in Rochester, Mich., and later studied dance at Western Michigan University and Oakland University.
In 2016, Ciccone married British-born actor Ray Thacker, who was by his side when he died.
Ciccone is survived by his husband, Thacker; his father, Silvio; and his siblings, Madonna, Martin, Paula, Melanie, Jennifer and Mario. He was preceded in death by his eldest brother, Anthony; his mother, Madonna; and his stepmother, Joan Gustafson Ciccone.
