Christie Brinkley famously covered Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s issue three years in a row—and the supermodel just showed she’s still very much a swimsuit maven at 71 . While teasing the release of her upcoming memoir Uptown Girl, Brinkley showed off her abs in a tiny red-hot string bikini, giving her fans some vacation FOMO and major bikini inspo as she soaked in some sun on a yacht over the weekend.

The National Lampoon’s Vacation actress says she was “feeling optimistic” as she enjoyed a glamorous boat day on the water. In a post shared with Johnny Nash’s yacht rock hit “I Can See Clearly Now” playing in the background, a beaming Brinkley is seen wearing a triangle bikini swimsuit top embellished with a gold hardware design on the straps.

While leaning back to take the selfie, the sun-kissed star—who wore an abstract-printed red caftan covered in a blue and white geometric design draped over her shoulders—held a blue “NY” baseball cap over her platinum blonde hair. Brinkley, who appeared to be fresh-faced except for a swipe of red lip gloss, accessorized with a silver watch and a gold pendant chain necklace.

Meanwhile, in a second photo, Brinkley showed off the bikini’s matching bottoms and her toned stomach as she leaned back. She swapped out her baseball cap for a vacation-coded large straw hat.

The star has previously opened up about embracing her latest decade, calling 70 “the new 40” in an Instagram post shared last year. "All this talk about age ! But I think 70 is the new 40 a great time to take on new challenges, volunteer, travel, or start a new company,” Brinkley posted at the time. “The sky is the limit. Now is a great time to make your dreams and goals a reality! Here’s to loving the age you’re in!" She emphasized her message with the hashtags #sexy70, #startuplife, and #70strong.
