Every family has a picky eater — even Chrissy Teigen's.

Speaking exclusively with PEOPLE in partnership with Maison Boursin Cheese, the Cravings cookbook author, 38, reveals who the pickiest eater in her family is — and it's her 6-year-old son.

"Miles, without a doubt," she says. "He's been picky his whole life though, even when he was a little baby." Teigen and husband John Legend are also parents to daughters Luna, 8, and Esti, 22 months, and son Wren, 17 months.

"And you learn that that's kind of the only thing that like a 6-year-old has control over in their lives," Teigen continues. "There's so much that we tell them to do that they have to do and so he's definitely picked up on the fact that he can control his eating."

Despite Mile's pickiness, Teigen says that he's becoming more willing to try new foods. "Instead of pressuring him or making him feel bad about it, we're just trying to be as patient as we can."

"And I'm starting to understand and realize that the more he sees me cook something, the more willing he is to try it and like it, as opposed to, like, if I order the same thing at a restaurant," she adds. "So I try to do much more of, of seeing him cease through the process and he's got so much better."

Elsewhere in the conversation, Teigen tells PEOPLE about her partnership with Maison Boursin cheese as their Host in Residence during the holiday season, celebrating all the little moments, like spending time with friends and family while cozied up at home.

She calls Maison Boursin "a staple" for entertaining during the holiday season and all the moments in between. "It's the star of everything. It's so fun to use. It's so easy to use. It's creamy, it's crumbly, it enhances the flavor of anything that you're using it on," she says.

Teigen also loves the cheese's versatility. "It's so versatile and you find that it is such a crowd pleaser, which is really what you want when you're having so many different types of people in your home."

"You wanna make sure that you're not playing it safe but making sure that people are going to come to your house and remember that like, ‘oh man, it just felt like zero pressure. It felt great. I ate foods that I loved, but it was still casual and fun and we got to really enjoy the little moments and, and be with our family together.' It's great."

Teigen finds that crafting the charcuterie boards with Maison Boursin as "the star of the table" is  a great way to "unwind" with Luna. "Making like a beautiful charcuterie board is like a form of crafting and you just never know where it's gonna go."

"You work from the inside out and you just come up with something beautiful," she says.
