Chris Pine's Latest Red Carpet Look Includes Jorts and Tube Socks and We Can't Stop Staring
Pine walked the 'Poolman' premiere red carpet in a very memorable look
Chris Pine just took method dressing to a new extreme — at least by sartorial standards.
Last summer, fans got a glimpse at the actor’s transformation for his new role in Poolman, which included a scruffy overgrown gray beard and golden shoulder-length blonde hair. But it looks like he’s showing his unrecognizable look to a whole new audience.
On April 24, Pine, 43, attended the Poolman premiere in Los Angeles fully dressed up as his character Darren Barrenman who, you guessed it, is a man who works on pools, but is then approached by a mysterious woman (DeWanda Wise) for his assistance with exposing a corrupt politician.
Looking as if he dipped into his onscreen wardrobe, Pine wore a beige checkered blazer pinned with a pink flower corsage. Underneath, he wore a casual “I heart L.A.” T-shirt paying homage to Darren’s hometown of the City of Angels.
He also wore jorts (jean shorts) with hiker boots and socks. Shorts aren’t a new thing for Pine, who once proudly stood behind his love for tiny bottoms. “I don’t think there’s anything to defend,” he told E! News in November.
To top it all off, he threw on a pair of red-tinted shades that were cool, but also drew attention to Pine's long blonde surfer hair.
It’s not confirmed if it's a wig. In March, he was seen with a shorter ‘do, which seemed to make a return later on in the night as seen in photos Pine took with his parents off the carpet. This suggests that Pine could’ve pulled his long locks into a ponytail or took off a hairpiece, like a wig or extensions, after.

Either way, Pine made a splash with his look and new movie, which also marks his directorial debut.
Speaking with PEOPLE about his new project at the premiere, Pine said his goal was to pursue what made him happy, “and this is what came out.”
"I think I just got to a point in my career where I was bored and frustrated, and I've been doing a lot of the similar things and this really made me happy," he shared of his inspiration to get behind the camera.
