Chris Hemsworth takes on Hulk Hogan
He’s known for his hulky muscles, so it makes sense that Chris Hemsworth has been lined up to play Hulk Hogan in a new movie about the wrestling superstar.
The actor will be trading Thor’s hammer for Hulk Hogan’s iconic handlebar moustache in a biopic about the World Wrestling Federation icon, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Hogan will be a consultant on the film, which is in talks to drop on Netflix, and he will probably be pleased with the casting.
Back in 2013, he was asked by Toronto’s Cape Breton Post which actor he would pick to portray him in a film.
“I think we need a serious, serious actor that knows what he’s doing. You know who I thought would be good? That guy that did the action movie Thor,” he replied.
Hogan, born Terry Gene Bollea, burst into the pop culture consciousness back in the 1980s when he was a regular player in the televised WWF fights.

He went on to become a popular household name and landed a number of magazine covers, appeared on nightly talk shows, made cameo appearances and even had his own cartoon.
But, like any star, Hulk hogan also faced his fair share of scandal as well. He was caught up in a sex tape scandal with the wife of his friend, which also saw him make racist remarks.
He was temporarily ex-communicated by World Wrestling Entertainment, and got into a lawsuit with media site Gawker.

But the film is set to be more of an origin story, which will show the world how Hogan rose up through the ranks in Tampa, Florida before going on to find international fame.
Considering Chris already starred alongside a green hulk in Avengers, we think he’ll be ready to take his turn as a tanned one!
