Chloë Sevigny Admits She 'Didn’t Know Much About' Charli xcx When She Was Asked to Be in '360' Music Video
"All the girlies, all the kids loved her, and I was like, 'Who is this Charli xcx?'" recalled Sevigny in a new interview
Chloë Sevigny had to guess who Charli xcx was — but now she's well-aware.
During an interview on the Sept. 26 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the 49-year-old actress and fashion icon recalled starring in Charli's viral "360" music video — and admitted she "didn't know much about" the British pop star, 32, beforehand.
"Honestly, I didn’t know much about her," said Sevigny. "I had seen her, like, all over my Instagram. All the girlies, all the kids loved her. And I was like, ‘Who is this Charli xcx?’"

Once the Feud: Capote vs. The Swans star found out some of the video's other stars, however, she was convinced to join the production.
"I was like, ‘Rachel Sennott? I’m in.’ I’m like, I adore that person. I’m in love with her," said Sevigny.
Released in May, Charli's "360" music video — also starring Julia Fox, Emma Chamberlain, Gabbriette Bechtel, Alex Consani and A. G. Cook, among others — launched her Brat album cycle, which kicked off what became "Brat Summer."

From watching the video, viewers would likely think Sevigny snapped into "brat"-mode with ease, but she wasn't immediately sure how to capture the exact energy.
"I asked the director, I was like, ‘So, what’s the mood? What’s the vibe in the video? How should I act?’ And he’s like, ‘Just act like a brat,'" she recalled. "I was like, 'A brat?' I mean, I have a 4-year-old. I know what a f---ing brat is."
Sevigny added, "I can do brat, but I said, 'I would rather do attitude, you know. I think I’m too old to be a brat.' I was like, 'Let’s do sexy attitude.'"
Ultimately, she had a great time filming the video. "It was super fun," said the Bones and All star. "You gotta keep it alive. Keep it fresh."
Following its release, "360" reached No. 41 on the Billboard Hot 100, while its music video received a nomination for best art direction at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards.
