Chet Hanks Channels Dad Tom's “Forrest Gump” Role in 'You Better Run' Video Packed with Easter Eggs from the Classic Movie
The duo's EP 'Leaving Hollywood' comes out on June 20
Chet Hanks is a-runnin' in his new music video.
The Running Point actor channeled the Academy Award-winning movie Forrest Gump for the "You Better Run" music video, featuring the new song from Something Out West — comprised of Chet, 34, and Drew Arthur.
The music video, which premiered on Friday, March 28, begins with a feather floatin' around accidental-like on a breeze to Chet sitting on a bench in a suit that may be very familiar to Forrest Gump fans. Meanwhile, the band performs on a shrimp fishing boat named Jenny — the most beautiful name in the wide world.

"You better run/Like the devil’s on your tail/Like you broke out of jail/Like a big storm’s coming/Run, like a wild mustang/Like a bullet train/" the duo sings in the chorus.
"Let me tell you something/You’re running out of time/On a ticking clock/She’ll be comin’ for you/There’s no time to walk/Run, run, run."
Throughout the music video, fans will notice Chet offering a box of chocolates while sitting on a bench, a fishing boat named Jenny, the iconic Nike Cortez sneakers and Chet's character running a la Forrest Gump.
Perhaps the most exciting easter egg for fans is the very special cameo from Forrest Gump himself — Tom Hanks. Tom, 68, joins Chet on the famous bench eyeing his son's familiar outfit.

"You Better Run" was written by Drew Arthur alongside Brendan Cooney and TJ Courtney, presenting a "cautionary tale with a sense of urgency," per a press release.
