A Taiwanese actress is turning heads at 63-year-old with age-defying looks and an eyebrow-raising gown to go with them.

Chen Meifen is a renowned actress and local celebrity in her home country, but now the veteran performer is piquing international interest.

The star was been spotted performing in a dance routine pre-recorded for a Lunar New Year entertainment special for a local TV station, and it was what she had on - or rather didn’t - that has tongues wagging.

The 63-year-old stepped out in a sheer gown, exposing her remarkably figure with her modesty protected only by well placed sequinned detailing and a skirt of extravagant feathering.

Dancing on a platform supported by young men at least a few decades her junior, the actress could be easily mistaken for a woman in her thirties, or at an absolute stretch a very genetically blessed 40.

For those outside Taiwan, the dazzling entertainer may be an unbelievable novelty, but in her home country she’s an established and recognised star.

More than 40 years ago Meifeng got her break as a beauty queen, taking out the Knitwear Beauty Queen crown in 1975 when she was 19 years old.

These days, after a marked career on the screen she’s recognised as the country’s most beloved and beautiful older star, a title she was first blessed with hilariously almost three decades ago at just 36.

The term specifically is ‘obasan’, a Taiwanese term meaning ‘older woman’ or ‘aunt’ in the general, non-familial sense.

In 2016, when she turned 60, she told local media she wanted to reinvent the way women age.

"Who says obasans must look dowdy and ugly? We can choose to be beautiful obasans. Nobody can defy the ageing process, but we can grow beautiful as we age,” she said.

The star is now a social media sensation with over 83k followers on Instagram and over 500,000 on Facebook many of whom love to praise her jaw-dropping youthful glow.

Photos showing the star enjoying an active life with wrinkle-free skin and an enviable gym-toned physique have thousands of likes and have created something of a cult following.

The star told the Daily Mail she puts her glow down to a ‘ginger and soup’ heavy diet and that despite her picture-perfect online presence is still in pursuit of Mr Right.
