Where would Brat summer be without a taste of “Apple”?

It’s hard to imagine Charli xcx's latest viral hit being left off of her new album, Brat, but according to her, that was almost the case.

The British pop star, 31, revealed the information in the caption of a July 16 Instagram post, writing, “a little secret ‘apple’ nearly didn’t make the cut on the final tracklist.. imagine lol.”

Since Brat’s June 7 release, “Apple” has taken off thanks to its popular TikTok dance challenge — which has been adopted by celebrities and fans alike.

Just this week, Twisters costars Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glen Powell and Anthony Ramos joined the sweeping trend by putting their own spin on moves that thousands of fans have already replicated.

In Charli’s latest Instagram post, she included a series of fan videos taking on the “Apple” dance craze, adding in her caption, “anyways it’s her world and we’re just living in it!!”

Charli first performed the song’s “epic” choreography — created by TikTok user Kelley Heyer — with fellow pop star Troye Sivan and photographer Terrence O'Connor in a June 28 TikTok video.

“epic choreo moment incoming on sweat tour !” she captioned the tutorial post, referencing her and Sivan’s upcoming co-headlining tour.

The duo will hit the road for their first show in Detroit on Sept. 14, followed by stops in Toronto, New York City, Boston, Chicago, Miami, Denver, Los Angeles and Portland. The tour wraps up in Seattle on Oct. 23.

Charli’s new hit song and upcoming tour come amid Brat’s summertime takeover, which has already become a huge trend among fans inspired by the album’s neon green cover.

The “Girl, So Confusing” singer clarified the meaning behind "Brat summer" in a recent interview on the BBC Sounds podcast when asked if a photo of her on a speedboat met the trend’s requirements.

“It can go that way — quite like luxury,” she said. “But it can also be so trashy, just like a pack of cigs and a BIC lighter and a strappy white top with no bra.”

According to the Grammy-nominated artist, she has much more planned for Brat beyond the summertime. Speaking to Billboard for a new cover story, Charli confirmed that more remixes following her deluxe album are on the way — but played coy when asked about more details.

She also teased plans to head to Poland for three weeks in August “to write a film there” but was also mum on those details. “Well, I don’t really know if I should say because I also don’t know if we’re going to do it,” the musician shared. “We might actually just go to Poland and not do that, but that is the idea.”
