“The Challenge: All Stars” Enlists Fan-Favorite Format for Season 5 as Leroy Garrett, Nany González and More Return

The Challenge season 40 hasn’t headed into the finale yet, but fans can already look forward to another season of the franchise.

MTV announced on Wednesday, Dec. 18, that The Challenge All Stars: Rivals will premiere Wednesday, Jan. 29, and feature 13 pairs of competitors seeking revenge alongside one of their biggest enemies in the game.

Frank Sweeney seems surprised by the rivals twist when host TJ Lavin announces it in the first teaser for the new season. “What the f---?” the Challenge champ, 35, says.

For the first time, All Stars will move from Paramount+ to MTV when it premieres next month. The 21st, 24th and 28th seasons of the flagship franchise also featured the Rivals format.

All Stars: Rivals will see the likes of Amber Borzotra, Ashley Mitchell, Nany González and Da’Vonne Rogers returning to the franchise after some time away.

"Back to my old stomping grounds,” 35-year-old González, who is engaged to fellow Challenge star Kaycee Clark, Instagrammed on Dec. 18.

Katie Cooley, Aneesa Ferreira, Leroy Garrett, KellyAnne Judd and Devin Walker are coming off the heels of competing on season 40 in hopes of picking up the win that evaded them in Vietnam.

“This season is one not to miss,” Ferreira, 43, teased on Instagram on Dec. 18.

Derek Chavez, Tori Deal,  Johnny "Bananas" Devenanzio, Michele Fitzgerald, Rachel Robinson, Cara Maria Sorbello, Jenny West, Jordan Wiseley and Kyland Young all remain in the race for the title of season 40 winner.
