Celeste Barber is no stranger to stripping down to her knickers — she's made a career out of spoofing racy swimsuit and lingerie snaps posted by the rich and famous on Instagram.

So it's not really a surprise that the comedian/actor jumped in front of the camera to model pieces from her very own underwear line with Aussie favourite Bras N Things.

While her tongue-in-cheek parodies of the likes of Kendall Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski have certainly generated laughs and millions of followers, there's a bit more at stake here.

Because Celeste's collection of lacy bras, comfy undies and soft-as sleepwear — which hits stores today — was designed by Celeste herself.

At an exclusive pre-launch event attended by Yahoo Lifestyle, Celeste explained just how involved she was in the creative process.

She revealed that many of the pieces were inspired by her personal experiences, as well as her go-to pieces from her own undie drawer.

The 'Drama Maxi Wrap,' for instance, is modelled off a similar robe she donned with heels and huge sunnies while having a 'drama moment' poolside in LA.

The inspiration behind the Big Love Bralette was the sweet white lace bralette Celeste wore when she married Api Robin — aka the 'Hot Husband' — eight years ago.

And the Bridget Jones-esque Big Love Knickers were a must-have because Celeste herself loves to sleep in a pair of soft, hi-waisted undies.

As a long-time wearer of Bras N Things, Celeste knew that like her, customers wanted pieces that fit and functioned well but were also stylish and a bit sexy.

"How we look isn't our main currency but it's nice to feel good and feel comfortable," she said.

The Drama cami and shorts are a great example of this comfy-yet-cute ethos. While the dark floral print and lacy trim ooze bedroom glam, the built-in shelf bra in the cami and the high, wide waistband in the shorts offer hidden support.

And, of course, there had to be an element of fun throughout. Take a closer look at the clasp on the bras and you'll see Celeste's hand-written message, "You're the tits".

Plus, there's the campaign photos and videos which are just as hilarious and goofy as a scroll through Celeste's Instagram page.

A wide range of sizing and lots of coverage options for different tastes and body types were of utmost importance to Celeste, meaning the range caters to up to a size 20, with bras available to an F cup.

Dropping the ball when it comes to inclusivity was not an option for Celeste, who's made a name for herself by highlighting the ridiculously narrow and unattainable standard of beauty set by the fashion industry and the media at large.

"That's what I do, I poke fun at things that don't include everyone," she quipped.
