Channel 10 has officially confirmed a MasterChef spin-off, Celebrity MasterChef, is 'coming very soon' to TV screens in 2021.
All three existing judges, Melissa Leong, Andy Allen and Jock Zonfrillo, will return to put the as-yet-unnamed stars through their culinary paces.
Celebrity MasterChef 'coming soon'
A Channel 10 statement announcing Celebrity MasterChef read:
"We've searched high and low for some of the country's top celebrities with a passion for food, and are ready for their big break in the MasterChef kitchen.
"They may be the best in their business, but will they be the best in our kitchen?"
Judge Jock excitedly took to his Instagram account to share the show's new logo and tease three of the famous faces that are set to appear.
"A legendary sports person, an Aussie icon, and a famous actor are ready to don a MasterChef apron and face the heat of the famed MasterChef kitchen!" the Scottish-born chef wrote.
"Cannot WAIT for this!! Coming very soon…" he added.
Guessing game begins
Fans were thrilled with the news, taking to the comments section to share their enthusiasm.
"How exciting!!!" wrote one while another added, "Can't wait".
A third fan asked, "Who are the contestants?!" and it seems there are already theories floating around.
"Plz tell me the actor is Chris or Liam Hemsworth," wrote another.
The guesses kept on coming over on fellow judge Andy Allen's Instagram account, with names such as Home & Away's Lincoln Lewis, rocker Jimmy Barnes, and Living Room host Amanda Keller all popping up.
Several fans were keen to see original MasterChef judges, Gary Mehigan, George Calombaris, and Matt Preston return as celebrity contestants as well.
The trio walked away from the show after 11 years at the helm in July 2019 and were replaced by Jock, Andy and Melissa.
