Celeb Fashion Designer Bob Mackie, 85, Offers Health Update After Incident in NYC
Fashion designer Bob Mackie, who created many iconic fashion moments for celebrities like Madonna, Cher, Zendaya and more, shared a health update after taking a fall in New York City during a night out.
Mackie was recently on his way to see The Rockettes Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall when he tripped on a subway grate and fell on the ground, sustaining injuries to his face.

He was reportedly rushed to a hospital in an ambulance, but he recently shared an update on how he was doing after the incident.
Speaking with Newsweek, he said, "I have a few bruises; my nose is swollen, but I'm OK." The publication also noted that he had cuts on his upper lip and over his right eye from the fall.

On Dec. 3, shortly after the injury, Mackie's official Instagram account noted, "Bob is doing OK. Let’s send well-wishes his way!" while sharing a video from Inside Edition covering the incident. Mackie's facial injuries were visible as he recounted what happened.
"I'm okay. I have things that hurt," he said at the time of the interview, pointing out his injuries. "I have a nose that's swollen, and a cut over here, and a cut, slice in my lip."
Fans shared support for the designer, with comments like, "All the best to the Best! Positive healing thoughts to you" and "Protect Bob at all costs! He is a National Treasure. Get well soon! 🥰❤️."

Luckily, Mackie was finally able to see the Rockettes a few days later, with his social media team sharing photos from the outing along with the message, "The team reached out and arranged for Bob to finally see it and he loved it! He even got to see a sketch of one of the designs he created for the Rockettes in 1981."
